Pro racer Morris back in action for Leipert and Lamborghini with surprise Super Trofeo deal

•    GT star Seb Morris signs Super Trofeo deal with top team Leipert
•    Pro driver to partner Sebastian Balthasar in exciting line-up
•    Morris to contest last two Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe events
•    Welshman also drafted in by Leipert for October’s ‘World Final’

Proven international GT racer Seb Morris will make an incredibly welcome return to competitive action a week from now at the Nurburgring in Germany, having been drafted in by top team Leipert Motorsport to contest the remainder of the 2021 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season.

Beginning with the penultimate event of the campaign next weekend, 4th/5th September, Morris will also race in the Super Trofeo Europe finale on Thursday, 28th October, and Friday, 29th October, at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy.

Notably, the deal with Leipert also sees the 25-year-old Welsh racer contesting the prestigious ‘World Final’ at Misano over the weekend immediately following the conclusion of the European season, on 30th/31st October. The annual World Final features the premier drivers and teams from Lamborghini Super Trofeo categories across the globe.

Brought in by Leipert to partner German racer, and namesake, Sebastian Balthasar at the wheel of the No.2 Lamborghini Huracan EVO, Morris’ aim is to hit the ground running next weekend and ultimately go on to mount a challenge for victory in the World Final two months from now.

Morris’ outings in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe fit alongside his existing commitments with Leipert Motorsport in the 24H Series, where team and driver celebrated a hard-earned podium finish in May at Hockenheim in Germany on the former British GT Champion’s category debut.

“I’m very excited to get back behind the wheel of a Lamborghini”, said Chester-based Morris, “It’s always a pleasure and an honour to drive for such a prestigious automotive brand and, of course, to race for Leipert who are a fantastic team and never seem to miss a beat. I have my engineer from the 24H Series, Marc, with me and I’ve only heard good things about Sebastian Balthasar.

“One Seb on track is usually enough to scare people, so having two Sebs sharing the same car will be really interesting and, I hope, very quick as well! It’s a pleasure to have been asked to race in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and to try and help Leipert win the World Final at the end of October. I will do my absolute utmost to ensure Leipert gets the results we think we can achieve.”

Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe features identical Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO cars, not dissimilar to the Huracan GT3 car which Morris raced for the first time on his 24H Series debut with Leipert earlier in the year. Powered by a Lamborghini V10 engine, the cars produce more than 600bhp and feature a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle-shift gear change.

Morris’ first competitive run in Leipert’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe car will come during free practice at the Nurburgring next Friday, 3rd September, with qualifying following on Saturday, 4th September, at 09.55 UK time ahead of race one at 14.55 UK time. On Sunday, 5th September, race two will start at 10.30 UK time.

Live online streaming of both races will be available on YouTube.
