Seb Morris shines to secure first-ever Endurance Cup victory in British GT opener

Seb Morris bolstered his impressive resume at the opening round of the 2025 British GT Championship, clinching the series’ inaugural Endurance Cup victory over the weekend (April 6/7).

Teaming up with Ed McDermott in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 this season, Seb—currently the GT4 Pro-Am champion—not only helped secure the Endurance win but also crossed the line third overall in GT4, marking a memorable double triumph.

From the early test sessions through to the race, Seb and Ed displayed impressive pace, with Ed posting significant improvements in lap times under the guidance of his experienced teammate.

After setting competitive times in Free Practice and Pre-Qualifying, the pair excelled in their Qualifying sessions, capturing Endurance Cup pole position and a commendable fourth overall in GT4.

On race day, the partnership shone once again. Ed’s good start set a commanding tone for the victory, and a perfectly timed pit stop allowed Seb to take over and build on the momentum, ultimately running comfortably to the flag.

For Seb, already a double British GT champion in both GT3 and GT4, the win at Donington Park further cements his reputation as one of the country’s premier endurance racing drivers, adept at elevating the performance of his amateur teammates.

Seb, Ed, and Team Parker Racing are set to return for the next British GT Championship challenge at the iconic Silverstone 500 on 26–27 April, with full focus on success at the series’ marquee event.

“My trophy cabinet is becoming rather large, which I am rather proud of! A lot of hard work has gone in this weekend, so if you’d have told me we’d be on the overall podium, I would have taken that. Towards the end I knew I had a 10 second gap, so I was really careful with the GT3 traffic, just wanting to stay out of trouble and finish. As soon as Phil [Keen] started knocking on the door, getting within a few seconds, I turned the wick back up again.

“I want to give Ed credit. We came into the week running lap times which he hugely improved by the time we got to qualifying, so I am incredibly proud of what we managed to achieve in a short period of time. When I can really work with an Amateur driver, I am sure I can extract the most out of them and I feel there is much more to come with Ed.”
